Is there anything better than shooting wedding photography in Cornwall. Jamie-Lee and Jonathan chose stunning Port Eliot in Cornwall for their intimate wedding.
I always love returning to shoot wedding photography at Port Eliot. This stunning Grade I listed house with Grade I listed gardens has been inhabited for over 1,000 years and is believed to be the oldest continually inhabited dwelling in the UK. It’s long and rich history has seen it accumulate many treasures which are beautifully displayed in its many awe inspiring rooms. Giving me so many beautiful and interesting backdrops when I shoot wedding photography at Port Eliot. A truly elegant wedding venue for Jamie-Lee and Jonathan.
Intimate wedding photography at Port Eliot
Here’s what Jamie-Lee and Jonathan had to say about their wedding day.
“After many rearrangements we decided that we wanted a small, simple & intimate wedding. We wanted our day to be very laid back for everyone to enjoy without any stress or hassle. As a couple we feel our wedding theme matched our personalities perfectly as we just like to have fun and not take life too seriously so this was important to mirror on our wedding day.
Our day was partly Scottish themed with a bagpiper playing as guests arrived. Our food was relaxed sharing platters for everyone to enjoy socially. We had a band that played a mix of rock & 80s music. We had personalised complementary cocktails that matched our personalities (including our dog). Our day was absolutely perfect for us and our guests and there’s not one part we would change.
So, here’s our advice to couples planning their weddings is don’t stress! Keep it simple to what you like, don’t worry about what others think. Remember it’s your day, have fun. Have your nearest and dearest there and you will enjoy every minute of the day.”
Natural Port Eliot wedding photography
It’s the little quirks at weddings that tell me something of my couples personalities. At Jamie-Lee and Jonathan’s wedding the bagpiper was a real treat, as were the personalised cocktails and the live band playing 80’s music. Kilts, K9 cocktails and a banging soundtrack. What’s not to love!
Storytelling wedding photography at Port Eliot
One of the many things I love about capturing Port Eliot wedding photography are the beautiful Grade I listed 100 acre gardens. Designed by Humphry Repton, who was the last great English landscape designer of the eighteenth century. I whisked Jamie-Lee and Jonathan away for a mini photoshoot visiting the impressive rhododendron garden, the maze, the bowling green, the orangery and the arboretum and got some romantic portrait images of them in front of the magnificent views of the estuary and the majestic St Germans viaduct stretching over it. So, if you love the romance of Cornwall that you read about in classic literature like Daphne du Maurier and Poldark, then the grounds, gardens and magnificent views of Port Eliot is the perfect Cornwall wedding venue for you. Here take a look!
I even managed to get some fantastic drone images of Jamie-Lee and Jonathan in Port Eliot’s maze that I know they were thrilled with.
It was so much fun photographing Jamie-Lee and Jonathan’s gorgeous Cornwall wedding. A truly unique and fun wedding day at a stunning wedding venue for this lovely couple. Congratulations to Jamie-Lee and Jonathan for getting married and creating such an amazing day. I hope my images will allow you to relive it again and again for many years to come.
I’ll leave the last words to Jamie-Lee and Jonathan. Here’s what they had to say about working with me.
“Tom was absolutely amazing, friendly and accommodating. He helped us feel comfortable and made everything so natural, there were no awkward moments. All of our guests complimented on how lovely he was and didn’t even notice he was taking pictures most of the day. Tom’s professionalism definitely shines through and there’s no other photographer we would have wanted to capture our day. We are so grateful for everything, he even helped us plan our sequence of events for the day.
His use of drone and videography is also a huge bonus and very important if your having a small wedding but still want to share with others or just to keep your amazing memories. Tom’s work is absolutely beautiful and unique. We asked for natural theme as we are both very chilled. We LOVE our photos and struggling to pick our favourites that we’ve kept a copy of them all! We can’t thank Tom enough for his amazing work and can’t wait to see our video. If we were to rate it would be 10/10 as there really isn’t anything we would change.”
