Upton Barn Wedding Photography

Let’s celebrate the stunning wedding of Carl and Liz Pincombe that took place at the beautiful Upton Barns in Devon. I started my day with Liz, her girls and her family at a local B&B not far from the venue. It was an amazing place with super large windows that flooded light into the rooms and enabled me to capture the beauty of the morning preparations.

Once the girls were ready I left for Upton Barn & Walled Garden and met up with Carl and his crew for a few snaps before the girls arrived. The day unfolded from here with some shots of the outdoor ceremony enhanced by the vibrant colours of the lavender that complemented Liz and her bridesmaid’s dresses perfectly. After they had said their vows I managed to whisk them away to a secret spot just a couple of minutes walk away and capture some natural images of just the two of them, in their first moments as Mr and Mrs. I was inspired by the landscape – rolling hills and big open skies showing off the best of Devon countryside. The day continued with beautifully presented food, live music and a venue that was filled with love and laughter – Liz and Carl were over the moon.

Wedding planning was tough as neither of us wanted to wait, nor did we want a big do, so Upton Barn was the place for us. Grand in itself but intimate for our small group and gave us both exciting chills when we first visited.

I struggled to find the perfect dress, as nothing made me feel like me. I didn’t want a fuss, lace, silk, nothing suited. Then two dresses later, I was still seeking the perfect dress and chatted with Sam from Browns of Totnes and explained my dilemma as being petite, everything drowned me. Sam was brilliant and found me a Jenny Packham dress that was minimal yet pretty, I loved it.

The day was laid back, exactly as we had hoped. Our closest family and friends only, all sat at one table, sharing our special day together.
