Nancarrow Farm Wedding Tour

Welcome to Nancarrow Farm – tucked into a quiet Cornish valley, a working organic farm that also happens to be one of the most beautiful barn wedding venues in Cornwall.

If you’re planning a Nancarrow Farm wedding and want to know how it feels to be here on your day, walk it with me.

Arrival – that first “we’re really doing this” moment

You turn off the main road and roll down a leafy lane, fields and hedgerows on either side. The farm slowly opens up in front of you – stone barns, timber cladding, soft light catching the courtyard.

Nancarrow has five characterful barns gathered around a central courtyard, all part of a Grade II listed organic farm. It feels more like a little hamlet you’ve borrowed for the weekend than a wedding venue.

From a photographer’s angle, I’m already clocking:

  • The way guests spill into the courtyard and naturally gather in pools of light.
  • The layered stone, wood and foliage that make every candid look cinematic.

The courtyard & gardens – the social heart

We start in the courtyard, framed by rambling roses, herbs and potted plants. In late spring and summer it’s buzzing – guests with drinks in hand, kids exploring, musicians tucked into a corner. In autumn the colours deepen; in winter, the fire pits and soft lighting turn it into a glowing, cosy hub.

Photo-wise, this is:

  • Perfect for confetti – the barns give you a natural tunnel of cheering guests.
  • A dream for documentary photos – people chatting, laughing, hugging, totally relaxed.
  • A beautiful spot for a few quick, un-posed couple portraits while everyone thinks you’ve “just popped inside for a drink.”

The Rusty Barn – the ceremony space with a view

Now we step into the Rusty Barn – Nancarrow’s incredible indoor ceremony space. It opens out over the meadow, with huge doors that can be thrown open so your vows are framed by trees, sky and fields.

Here you can:

  • Walk down the aisle surrounded by warm timber, soft light and your favourite people.
  • Keep it intimate and simple, or style it up with flowers, foliage and candles.

For me as a Nancarrow Farm wedding photographer, this barn is gold: beautiful side light, clean lines, and that meadow backdrop that keeps every ceremony frame rooted in Cornwall.

Outdoor licensed spaces – saying “I do” under open sky

If you’re dreaming of an outdoor wedding in Cornwall, Nancarrow also has multiple licensed outdoor spaces – from meadow and garden settings to more tucked-away corners beside the water. There are six licensed options in total, so you can match the exact feel you want, from laid-back and rustic to more formal and styled.

Think:

  • Wildflower meadows in late spring and summer.
  • Dappled light, long grass, and that soft Cornish breeze in your vows.
  • Guests gathering outside with a drink while we steal away for a few cliff-top or beach portraits nearby if you want to sneak out.

Food & feast – Nancarrow’s farm-to-table heart

Now we head towards the dining barn and kitchen – the beating heart of Nancarrow.

This is a true farm-to-table wedding venue. The team cooks with produce grown on the farm itself, plus their own organic beef and lamb, creating big communal feasts that feel like the best family gathering you’ve ever been to.

For your photos and film, that means:

  • Long tables filled with seasonal dishes, sharing platters, wood-fired food and plenty of colour.
  • Candles and simple foliage that keep it all elegant but relaxed.
  • Real reactions and laughter during speeches – fuelled by incredible food and good wine.

If you care about sustainable weddings, local produce and a venue that genuinely walks the walk, Nancarrow delivers.

Accommodation – turning your wedding into a Cornish getaway

One of the best things about a Nancarrow Farm wedding is that it doesn’t feel like just “a day”. With exclusive use of the barns, you also get on-site accommodation for up to around 30 guests – including cosy rooms and shepherds’ huts in the warmer months.

So instead of everyone rushing off at midnight, you get:

  • A relaxed night by the fire pits, under the stars.
  • Breakfast together the next morning, no mad dash to check-out elsewhere.
  • Time to slow down, breathe, and actually feel your wedding.

As a photographer, I love shooting those quieter, in-between moments: morning coffee in the courtyard, kids running around the orchard, your best friend still in pyjamas with a cup of tea and bed hair.

Seasons at Nancarrow – all-year Cornish magic

Nancarrow is one of those rare venues that genuinely works in every season:

  • Spring weddings at Nancarrow Farm – blossom, fresh greens, soft light and new growth everywhere.
  • Summer weddings – flowers, herbs, long evenings, everyone outside around the courtyard and millpond.
  • Autumn weddings – deeper tones, rich foliage, warm textures and those moody Cornish skies that look insane in photos.
  • Winter weddings – wood burners roaring, fire pits lit, fairy lights glowing in the courtyard; cosy, intimate, atmospheric.

Each season brings its own mood, and I lean into that when I shoot – so your photos feel like your day, not a recycled template.

Hello, I’m Tom Frost, a professional wedding photographer in Cornwall, deeply passionate about capturing life’s beautiful moments. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to artistic storytelling, I’ve dedicated my life to photography, creating images that evoke emotions and preserve memories.

I’ve been capturing wild weddings and elopements in the South West of the UK & Europe for over 10 years. I grew up in Cornwall, spending my life exploring the coastal cliff tops & sandy coves.

A personal note from me…

I’m Tom Frost – a Cornwall wedding and elopement photographer & filmmaker who’s a little bit obsessed with places like Nancarrow Farm.

I’ve been capturing wild weddings and elopements across Cornwall, the South West and Europe for over 10 years. I grew up here, exploring cliff tops, tidal pools and tucked-away coves – which means I know the hidden spots and how the light behaves on this coastline.

My work is:

  • Natural, cinematic and story-led – a blend of documentary coverage and creative portraiture.
  • Shot hybrid – both photography and video, so you can have a wedding gallery and a film that feel like they belong together.
  • Focused on real moments over fake posing.

If you’re planning a Nancarrow Farm wedding and you:

  • Feel excited and a bit overwhelmed.
  • Want someone who’ll help with timelines, light, logistics and locations.
  • Care about having your day captured honestly – the tears, the stupid jokes, the quiet bits, the chaos…
